Meet D'Chef

Dennis Sammarone

Renowned chef, Dennis Sammarone brings over fifty years of diversified culinary experience to the table. A child of Italian immigrants, he is the third generation to take up cooking as a profession. His roots go back to Chieti, a province in Italy.  In his mid 20’s, Dennis became the Executive Chef for Harry and Leona Helmsley both privately and corporately. His responsibilities included overseeing their twenty-seven properties throughout the United States.  Following this role, he became Carnival’s Executive Chef for the Cable Beach Hotel and Casino in Nassau, Bahamas. Subsequently, Dennis opened and owned Serafino, a highly-rated ristorante in Wayne and Englewood, New Jersey.

Dennis then worked for the New York Daily News, one of the largest newspapers in the country, as the Executive Chef and Food Service Director. He authored weekly food columns, made multiple television appearances, and visited schools to help spark children’s interest in culinary and nutrition. Throughout the years, Dennis provided his expertise and guidance by consulting for many restaurants and food operations.  Most recently, he worked at Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment in East Rutherford New Jersey as the Executive Chef.

During the pandemic, Dennis wanted to share his passion for cooking so he and his wife Gina started recording and posting on Instagram from his home. Dennis shared his recipes and techniques to inspire people to cook.  Little by little his following grew as his posts became more and more frequent. Dennis is currently working on a cookbook that teaches how to make delicious restaurant-style meals in easy steps with minimal ingredients so that anyone can prepare and enjoy them in the comforts of their own home.
